Our Monthly Themes for Term 2

This post may contain affiliate links which help support my family. Thank you for stopping by.

I have set themes for the next 3 months. We start back at “school” on Tuesday April 28th.

April 28th – May 1st: Easter

I created a Resurrection Eggs lapbook to cover the crucification and resurrection of Christ and we will be working on this during the last 2 weeks of April. We will also complete worksheets relevant to the event and why we celebrate it.

May 4th – May 29th: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

I’ve put together a lapbook for this theme to work through. It will help Noo practice his letter recognition in a fun way.

June 1st – June 26th: Transportation

I put together my first lapbook from scratch which we will be working on in conjunction with the worksheets from our curriculum.

June 29th – July 31st: Astronomy

Photobucket

2009 is International Astronomy Year and as part of our Astronomy theme, I’ve created a Space Travel lapbook and I’m in the process of completing a Space lapbook. I’ll post a link to that book once its complete.

We also recieved allot of resources from Sivuyile Manxoyi of The South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) which we will be using during the course of the month. I’d like to get a mini telescope, but we’ll see how the finances are beforehand.
