Pet Printables
Vet Center from Kindergarten Night Owls
Each month we change our dress up center based on a different theme. This month is the Vet center. We use stuffed animals, leashes, bowls, X-rays, brushes, etc. This is the sheet I made up for the students to fill out on their patient. (pictures on Animal Antics Art CD by DJ Inkers)
P is for Pets from Spell Outloud
Children love to learn about pets! I’ve compiled some of the pet themed resources for preschool that I have used with my preschoolers plus others I’ve found to add to our unit when we do it again!
FREE Pet Worksheets from 123 Homeschool 4 Me
Is your toddler, preschooler, or kindergartner an animal fan? They are going to love these FREE Pet themed preschool worksheets!
from Confessions of a Homeschooler
Since my Teeny Tot loves Puppies, we went with that for our Pet theme this month. She is currently 2.5 years old, so we’re keeping it light. She is excited about school this year, and is eager to have her own work to do! I want to point out that I do most of this because she has older siblings. If your toddler is your oldest, don’t feel pressure to do tons of activities with them! Let them lead you, if you sense they are frustrated, take a break for the day or move on to something else. At this age, just keep it fun and light!
Dogs Preschool Pack from Homeschool Creations
Our kids love animals, so anything dog related is a
sure hit! This pack has lots of great learning
printables to use with your preschooler when
learning about dogs and pets.
C is for Cupcake from Totally Tots
Now this ended up being one of the favorite activities from the unit. I wrote a cupcake poem and created a way for the girls to “give a cat a cupcake” (the cat is a decorated soup can). While we read the poem, the girls looked at the picture to see what kind of cupcake the cat was eating. Then they counted how many cupcakes and fed them to the cat.
Another activity we did was a letter “C” object sort. I placed various ABC objects on a tray. They had to feed the cat only the objects that started with the letter “C” sound (hard C). There are so many other ways to use this set. This project is included in the download link below.
Cats Preschool Pack from 1+1+1=1
This is a Preschool Pack featuring many different FREE printables all about Cats!
Preschool Fish Theme from Spell Outloud
Once again I created a paper bag science journal for the girls to use. I really like this size booklet because it’s not too overwhelming for beginning writers and readers. When asked to draw what they see, the size of the space on the page is not intimidating to fill.
