Our family is finally complete! After a very difficult and trying pregnancy, Pixie was born, via emergency c-sec (36 weeks 1 day), on 18 August 2011 at 12:45pm weighing 2.68kgs (5.9lb) and measuring in at 48cm (19in).

She was born with the cord wrapped around her neck and had amniotic fluid on the lungs so was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She was on oxygen for 2 days and was transfered from the NICU to the Neonatal High Care Unit (NHCU) on the evening of day 2 after they had successfully weaned her off the oxygen and her oxygen saturation had stabalised.

She was transferred back into the maternity ward with me the following day (day 3) after she had successfully started latching (on the first try :)).

That evening she met her brothers and sister for the first time. The children were immediately smitten with her. Though, truth be told, Fifi was terrified of her when she started moving, LOL.

Once we got home, Fifi decided she would sit with Pixie. She loves her baby sister. We haven’t had any issues with any of the children acting out since she arrived. We are now a family of 6!
