My mother’s day freebie printable questionnaire was such a hit, I had several blog readers ask if I was going to make one for Father’s Day. I’m happy to report that I got one whipped up last night. The kids filled them out today for their daddy, and he’ll be thrilled to get them next weekend for Father’s Day! Once again, all the fabulous clip art from this questionnaire was purchased from the uber-talented Miss Tiina…

In today’s world, Father’s Day can be a tough holiday to tackle. You may soon realize that many
of your students are living in situations where their father, for one reason or another, is absent
from the family. This is a wonderful opportunity to present to children that God is their eternal
father. He loves and cares for them and will stand by them no matter what life throws at them.

My Dad and I

My dad and I-we think alike,
He knows just what I mean
Before I even say a word
He reads, well, in between.

My dad and I-we like to fish
Or build a model plane,
Or fix a broken chair or two
Or just a windowpane.

My dad and I-we know the score
Of every single game;
Sometimes he’s really busy, too
But he takes me just the same.

My dad and I-we go swimming too,
Each year and sometimes twice.
My dad and I-we do everything;
My dad-he’s really nice.

Father’s Day

Over the years
As we grow old,
We remember our father
So brave and bold.

In the garden,
Leaning on the plow,
He would listen to me;
I see him now.

He would give advice
And understand;
He was always there
To lend a hand.

God made fathers
Strong and firm,
For he knew our lives
Would have great concerns.

So he gave us fathers
To teach us to pray,
And guide our lives,
And show us the way.

So on his day
Let’s take the time
To say “Thanks, dad.
I’m glad you’re mine.”

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m already thinking about it. I usually am pretty much a slacker when it comes to celebrating Father’s Day, and I feel pretty bad for my husband. So this year, I’m starting to think about it early, in hopes of making it a bit more special for him. I decided that I wanted the kids (well mostly my oldest) to fill out a questionnaire about Daddy. I could have printed a preexisting one, but instead I decided to design one myself. It prints as a 5×7 and would look really cute framed up for Dad.

Today we took a break from “traditional” learning and spent our designated school time doing arts and crafts for fathers day.

Noo coloured this picture in for me, isn’t he just the most caring and adorable child

Tot School
The boys each made a puppet for their fathers. They had tons of fun and made a glorious mess with the glitter. Fun was had by all.

I helped Koko by putting the craft glue on the paper bags, sticking the googly eyes and his name down in foam letters. The works in progress:
