As part of the lunches for the Kidlets I have 1 juice and 1 water bottle each that are in the fridge for them. Their water bottle gets replenished as they finish it, but they are only allowed one bottle of juice a day.

Monday
Strawberries, Spanich, Sweet Carrots, Rice with Gravy and Pork Roll Roast and Orange Jelly

Tuesday
Strawberries, Monster Pie and Rice with Gravy and a Banana Fritter

How cute are these little pies, I took a big flower cookie cutter put the pie filling in the middle then folded it in half and use a heart cookie cutter to make it extra special

Wednesday
On Tusday night Noo requested spaghetti, it tastes 100 x better than it looks, LOL. So in our lunchbox today we have blue and yellow banana cupcakes, blue spaghetti and mince (ground beef) and greengage jelly covered apple slices

Next week I’m going to have a go at making my family Bento Boxes and see how that works out for us. I’m quiet excited to get started.

Today I discovered the Another Lunch blog while looking for new ideas for our Monster Munchies. This blog is dedicated to Bento Boxes and give you all sorts of ideas on how to present the meals to your children.

Some of the features on this blog include:

  • How to start
  • Recipes
  • From next week I’m going to try to make the kidlets’ lunches a little more “bento like”. I’m going to have to buy some really cool new tools and odds and ends, but that’s ok, that can be bought over time.

Thank you Melissa for sharing all your wonderful ideas.

I’ve made a weekly lunch planner to help me stay on target every day when I’m packing their lunches.

A reminder of the lunches I have planned for the week, I have printed my planning sheet out and used Prestik (sticky tack) to mount it onto my kitchen cupboard where I can see it everyday.

This is today’s Monster Munchies and it was one of the Kidlets favourite dishes. I make enough dinner at night so that the Kidlets and Hubby can have a decent cooked meal at lunch time

This is my my Hubby’s lunch box for work. Pasta bake, naartjie and strawberry yoghurt
    Photobucket

Noo and Koko had the same as Daddy, they just has some dried cranberries with their yoghurt
    Photobucket

Fifi, being only 18 months old, got just a few naartjie wedges and a tablespoon of dried cranberries. She gets her yoghurt at 3, just before her afternoon nap time.

Here are a few photos of my kidlets enjoying their lunch. Koko insisted that Noo sit with him at his little table and not at the big table and Noo is such an awesome big brother that he obliged ♥

I bought these lunch boxes about a year ago, from The Healthylunchbox after stumbling across this blog and decided to start prepacking the kidlets and my Hubby’s lunches for the following day. I decided to start doing this after realising that some days I just don’t have time to make lunch for the kidlets, especially when Noo takes longer than usual with his school work and needs extra help with something. I like keeping the kidlets in their routine as much as possible and this helps a great deal and if they don’t finish their lunch, it just gets sealed and gets stored in the fridge till 3 o’clock snack time (with a few additions).

I usually make heathy food for dinner, with exception of our Friday Pizza Nights and make enough for their “Bento Style Lunch Boxes”.

On this particular day they had Grapes, Rice and Monsters Steak Pie and a naartjie each.
