I’m a firm believer in child directed learning, to a point. The kidlets have shown interest in many different subjects and we have explored them as much as possible. One of the subjects they showed interest in was botany. Koko has grown hydroponic vegetables to earn a Cub Scout badge and the girls have grown flowers. We learned all about how seeds germinate and how fruit develops on a plant.

Today, I introduced the topic by doing a graphic organizer with the class. Then, the kiddos completed one on their own.
