Freebie Friday ~ Kindergarten Nativity Pack **Limited offer**

This post may contain affiliate links which help support my family. Thank you for stopping by.

Last week I shared 4 new Monsters Ed Christmas Preschool Mini Packs. Today’s freebie, the Kindergarten Nativity Pack**, focuses on the Christmas Story, using characters from the birth of Jesus.

I have always pulled my Packs into lapbook style booklets to make it easier for the children to manage the activities and keeps everything centralised in one easy to store place. This also makes it easier to store in plastic sleeves for filing, or envelopes. I’ve included a video below of the lapbook I created for our little friend, Rori.

This 21 page Kindergarten Nativity pack contains the following activities:
– Complete the Pattern
– 7 Do-a-Dot Pages
– Number recognition peg activity
– Concertina Name Book
– Roll a Nativity Scene
– Colouring Page
– Colour by Number Page
– Shadow Matching

**Please note that this Nativity Pack will be free for a limited time**

Freebie Friday ~ Strange World Preschool Pack & Movie Review!

This post may contain affiliate links which help support my family. Thank you for stopping by.

Strange World

Last week Fifi and I were invited to a pre release screening of Disney’s Strange World*. What a charming movie! The movie follows the Clades on their journey through a strange mountain cave. Full of, out of their element, adventures and lessons on accepting their children’s dreams aren’t the same as their own. Fifi and I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and unexpected rollercoaster turns of this movie.

To celebrate the release, I’ve created this free Strange World Preschool mini pack. To download, click on the image below.

A new featurette is now available for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ action-packed adventure “Strange World,” revealing how the voice cast describes the upcoming feature: crazy, bizarre, adventurous, mysterious, thrilling, mind-blowing and, of course, strange. Featured stars include Jake Gyllenhaal, who lends his voice to Searcher Clade, a family man who finds himself out of his element on an unpredictable mission; Dennis Quaid, who voices Searcher’s larger-than-life explorer father, Jaeger; Jaboukie Young-White, who is the voice of Searcher’s 16-year-old, adventure-seeking son, Ethan; Gabrielle Union, who provides the voice of Meridian Clade, an accomplished pilot and Searcher’s partner in all things; and Lucy Liu, who voices Callisto Mal, Avalonia’s fearless leader who spearheads the exploration into the strange world. Opening in U.S. theaters this Nov. 23rd, the feature film introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog and a slew of ravenous creatures. “Strange World” is helmed by Don Hall (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Raya and the Last Dragon”) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (co-writer “Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Roy Conli (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Tangled”).

The Strange World Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring score by composer Henry Jackman (“The Gray Man,” “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), will be released in both digital and Dolby Atmos by Walt Disney Records on Nov. 23.

*Note this movie includes LGBTQ+ themes.

Freebie Friday ~ Madeline Resources

Madeline Resources

As a child, I loved the Madeline series. Here you can find a few free printable resources for your Madeline theme.

In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines,
lived twelve little girls in two straight lines
They left the house, at half past nine…
The smallest one was Madeline.

So begins Ludwig Bemelmans’s beloved children’s story, Madeline. First published in 1939, Madeline and all five of its sequels have become classics, spawning toys, games, dolls, and even a motion picture. The original Madeline was named a Caldecott Honor Book, and the first of its sequels, Madeline’s Rescue received a Caldecott Medal. What is it about this character that has endeared her to readers for more than 60 years? The answer is—attitude.

Madeline has been described as charmingly impetuous, irrepressible, mischievous, and precocious. She may have been the smallest of the 12 little girls in two straight lines, but she certainly was the feistiest. Wearing their flat sailor hats and identical coats, Madeline’s unnamed classmates all look alike except for their hair. But Madeline stands out, not because of the way she looks, but because unlike the other girls, she is utterly fearless. When she boldly tells the tiger in the zoo, “Pooh-pooh,” you wonder if what she is really saying is, “I’m not afraid of you or anything else in this world!”

No doubt about it. Madeline is a gutsy little girl, and that’s what makes her such a unique role model in a time when storybook princesses defined femininity for girls. Madeline gave young girls a reason to explore who they were as individuals, even if that meant being a tad disobedient. She gave girls the courage to speak their mind and showed them that there was nothing unfeminine about being smart and strong.

I started out our storytime by reading my kids If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. Then I let them decorate cupcakes with frostings and toppings. For the toppings I had sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and gumdrops. I tried to find mini M&M’s but they were sold out at the grocery store by my house. The kids both had fun decorating the cupcakes. I turned around for a minute and when I looked back I noticed that my daughter had spooned more toppings onto the plate then the cupcake. Now we have a bag of mixed toppings. 🙂
