Curious George inspires children to explore science, engineering, and math in the world around them. And what better guide is there for this kind of exploration than the world’s most curious monkey? George lives to find new things to discover, touch, spill, and chew. Everything is new to George and worth investigating. Of course, in George’s hands — all four of them — investigation often leads to unintended consequences!
When my kidlets were little, the girls especially, loved Curious George. In fact, Fifi’s 2nd birthday was monkey themed!

Division Introduction – Curious George’s Fair Shares from Love to Teach and Live to Learn on Teachers Pay Teachers
Students use this worksheet to record their work as they play “Fair Shares” on PBS Kids. The link is written in the directions and students divide the total number of treats to the total number of dogs to discover how many treats each dog equally receives!
My students love working on their iPads and the classroom computers! This also helped them VISUALIZE the dividing process without much whole group instruction first.

Use these sheets to help your students with the reading strategy of asking questions. They will write a question they have before you (or they) begin reading, while you (or they) are reading and when you (or they) are finsihed with the book.
Students will then look at their questions and decide if the story answered their question or is it is still unanswered. I have also included ideas on how to extend this activity.
Feed Curious George from Talking Pickle on Teachers Pay Teachers
This activity is perfect for all sorts of speech and language goals: articulation of the food names, requesting the foods, labeling, describing, turn-taking, and categorizing. There is a template for students to sort food via type (fruit/veggie/other) and by color. Cut out George’s mouth and cut out the fruits and students will GO BANANAS with this interactive activity! They won’t even know you’re working on speech.
