This last week has been an emotional roller coaster ride of epic proportions. Having to face the possibility of being diagnosed with breast cancer really freaked me out.

I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with Dr Ritz at The Bone and Breast Centre on Tuesday (they are fully booked till the end of November) for a mammogram. Because of my age, I’m 31, they said I didn’t need a mammogram and that I could have an ultrasound, but because my doctor requested one, they did it. The mammogram didn’t show anything of concern, so I had an ultrasound. The results have come back CLEAR. I am scheduled to go for my next mammogram at the age of 38 because of family history.

Mammograms are an intimidating and uncomfortable experience. Having said that, I was expecting it to be allot more painful than it actually was. Regular breast checks are extremely important. FEEL YOUR BOOBIES!
