We had a mini box day here this morning. Noo’s new reading books finally arrived. He LOVES the Beast Quest series and as he finishes his curriculum readers his reward is the next book in the series, which in this case is Sepron the Sea Serpant. He also needs more help in his Afrikaans lessons and a friend suggested the “Boet en Saartjie” book to get him started reading. I’m hoping this is going to help him. Both books were bought through Kalahari.net
Then from Crafty Stuff I ordered a few things for the littlies (including Bumble) for the sensory boxes. Click on the images (courtesy of Crafty Stuff unless otherwise noted) below to buy them online.
I couldn’t resist these iron on bees for Baby Bumble. I bought three, one is already on one of her baby grows, LOL.
Bees are currrenly out of stock, but here’s the link for all the iron ons
Bugs for our bug theme
For the colour sorting box.
Felt sheets. These will be used for finger puppets and felt food.
I got these wonderful deals on Bid or Buy during their Crazy Wednesday Auctions. I paid R1 (about $0.14) for each item. The shipping was the most expensive thing on the order!!!

I bought this finger puppet show set at Mr Price Home. The kids love it!
This book was bought at Cum Books
I bought these books at Bargain Books. Their prices are fantastic. I don’t know how I have never gone in there, LOL. They have a HUGE educational selection. I was spoilt for choice.
I just love this Flip Chart, its going to work so well with our Themes for the next year. Noo has already gone through it and is so excited to start using it on Monday.
The Flip Chart
My First World Atlas with 3D blow up globe, this is an awesome book. Its a wonderful addition to our theme centre (will blog about that soon). Its engaging which is exactly what I needed. It also came with a wall map 🙂
Noo is still struggling with the division concept, so I got these two write and wipe books to help him with division as well as multiplication.
This book was a freebie for Mom. It was a lovely surprise when I unpacked the shopping bag at home. I’ll start reading it as soon as I have gotten to “Tuesdays with Morrie”
The Kidlets also got to buy a book each, this are what they got.
Noo: Secrets of the Pirate Captain. We’ll be using this during our North America Theme (which runs for 2 months) and tracking and studying the areas in the “Captains Log”.
Koko: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
Fifi: My Christmas Pocket Library
I ordered some school books and they arrived today *WOOT*
A Menagerie of Animals: Illustrated Collective Nouns of Animals – I thought this looked cute when a friend recommended it, its a lovely addition to our growing library.
The Handmade Alphabet – Noo has been asking to learn sign language, I thought this would be a good place to start
“Presents the handshape for each letter of the American manual alphabet accompanied by an object whose name begins with that letter.”
Baby and Toddler Learning Fun: 50 Interactive and Developmental Activities to Enjoy with Your Child – I’m forever running out of ideas for Koko and Fifi, I’m hoping this is going to help
“More than 50 interactive, innovative play ideas for parents to use with children from 0 to 3 years old that foster early learning, from an education expert. It’s never too early to share the joy of learning with a child! Sally Goldberg gives parents the tools to provide such rewarding experiences in an organized, fun way with this special book.”
I ordered a whole bunch of goodies, mainly for our tots schoolers, from Kiddie Junction and they arrived today. I have a very good friend who is an agent for them, so my orders get delivered to my door step, even on Sundays 8)
For Noo: Enlighten English
Place the cards on the left hand side of the sturdy carry case, and then use the letters from the right hand side, to spell out the item in the picture eg. cake. The tiles are made so that they only fit on the correct square.
For Koko/Tot School: Nuts and Bolts
These brightly coloured plastic nuts and bolts will only pair up correctly if the same shape AND colour are matched together. Also good for teaching the left hand to turn a different direction to the right hand.
For Koko/Tot School: Connector set
Use these Magic Connectors to make all sorts of things – snakes, giraffe’s etc – use your imagination.
For Fifi: Roly Poly Butterfly
A cute soft cuddly toy, that has weights that always makes it stand up correctly. Shake it to hear the bell ring and play with the ‘wings’ to hear the crinkle sounds.
Noo’s curriculum arrived today and OMGsh there are 8 math workbooks. He just about keeled over from excitement when he saw those, LOL.
I’m super excited to share what we have received. Christmas came early for me today. *giggle*
We use the Clonard Home Education curriculum
Math Books (The Get Ahead box has a CD full of Math games – Its not part of the curriculum)
Language (Phonix in a Box is not part of the curriculum)
Misc subjects, the dot to dot should actually go with the math stuff, shouldn’t it, LOL
My manuals, register and assessments
Some extra goodies
