Preschool ~ Letter Cc & Ovals

~Koko is 39 months old~

This week we changed things up a bit. We did lessons in the living room and then I moved our “preschool” to our bedroom and its so much better as Koko now has his own school area which he loves. He is now asking for blue workboxes like Noo’s, so I’m in the process of looking for blue drawers for him (and trying to figure out where I’m going to put them, LOL). I also downloaded these cool Mickey Mouse themed workbox tags for him.

Now back to this week, the Letter of the Week curriculum is still a HUGE hit here. Koko loves the lessons and I just love how much he is learning. Here are a ton of pics of what we did this week (not necessarily in the order they were done, LOL).

The Cc magnet activity. I don’t have small magnets (must add that to my list before I forget, LOL) so we used mini pompoms this week

At his “new” school desk. This is an antique writing desk that belonged to Daddy’s Gran which we now use. I put a linen protector I got from hospital when I went in to have Fifi. It works like a charm and protects the wood.

Do-a-Dot page. We use bingo markers for these, LOL.

Number cards with pegs. Koko is still struggling a bit with putting the pegs onto the cards, but he is getting better.

Preschool ~ Letter Bb & Diamonds

~Koko is 39 months old~

Before I purchased the Letter of the Week curriculum I was downloading it file by file from the website (its available free, but you have to download each file individually and you miss out on the awesome extra’s, including the lesson plans, that come with purchasing it) and doing it alphabetically. We started on Bb the day before I purchased it. These first few photos of Koko painting the letter B were taken back in March when he was 35 months old.

Koko loves doing his school work on my bed, LOL. His lessons are usually done after lunch when Fifi is sleeping and Noo has his PC time. That way he has my undivided attention. Koko just loved this weeks lessons. He did allot of gluing (his new favoritist thing in the world), momma still does the cutting out for him in most cases.

Dot paints are almost impossible to find here in South Africa. I finally found these bingo markers at an obscure little Indian shop 2 weeks ago and introduced them to Koko this week. He wasn’t to sure what to do with them, but once he realised how they work, he’s hooked *giggle*

On rare occasions he will ask do to “cool tuff” (school stuff) while Noo is busy with his individual work. This doesn’t happen often as he has to sit in the living room (aka school room) and do his work and Fifi bugs him the entire time, which he hates. He is very much like me, poor kid, he hates being interrupted when he is busy with something.

He really struggles to clip pegs onto his butterflies, he managed to do three this week, he can open the peg with his fingers, but he doesn’t quite have the coordination to peg it onto items yet. We are working on this daily

It took him 2 days to finish this butterfly colouring picture, he really doesn’t like colouring in

Floor numbers, its the first time we done them like this, he loved it.

Sorting and gluing animals and insects (he did this all on his own, with no help from me – other than explaining how to do it)

I got this wonderful idea from Carissa from 1+1+1=1. I’ve made one for each member of our family, incl all the grandparents.

Another sorting gluing lapbook he did this week. This time he had to match the shape to the item in the folder. He loves this type of thing 🙂

~Koko is 38 months old~

Koko and Fifi lacing macaroni and big plastic ball beads. They kept each other occupied for at least an hour. They have such a special bond ♥

For some reason, I didn’t take pics the week we worked on the Letter Uu. I did however, find these three *blush*

Tot School ~ Letter of the Week Ii & Triangles

~Koko is 37 months old~

We are just loving this Curriculum, I supplement the curriculum with a shape a week, this week we worked on Triangles. We have been doing school in my bedroom lately, its so much warmer in there and its so comfortable 😀 There are also less distractions in there, so Koko doesn’t get frustrated cause he can’t concentrate 🙂
