Over the years, we have had Circle Time. The past year, though, we have been doing it less and less and eventually stopped doing it altogether. I am in the process of reworking our school schedule for the new school year and I’ve planned our Circle Time as follows:

As part of our school day we have circle time where all the children, even Fifi, participate. Below is the order in which we do things every morning.

Noo then recites the addresses, names the President, Deputy President, Capital City, National bird, flower, and animal. He also tells me the name of the National Anthem and the colours of the Flag. After all that we recite the Lords Prayer together and then sing the National Anthem.

Last week we started “Circle Time” before lessons start in the mornings. The boys love this. Koko and Fifi got this awesome joint birthday gift from a friend which we use every morning

This date and weather board is available from Edukits

I made posters to accompany the board with the South African National Anthem, pictures (and names) of our President and Deputy President as well as a poster with the National emblem which we will be going through every morning.

I drew up this schedule today, to keep me and the children focused during “Circle Time”
