I’m thrilled to announce that I have a new product available on TeachersPayTeachers.com! Complete Dolch Word Lists (Pre-Primer, Primer, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3). These words will be form part of our Circle Time Schedule. Koko will be working on the Pre-Primer, Primer and Grade 1 words and Fifi will start working on the Pre-Primer words!

    Clonard Distance Education

    Koko finished Grade R in the middle of August and I since been busy sorting out our school area and new school routine. Our curriculum arrived yesterday and I am quite chuffed that I can now officially get started on planning our first term, which starts on October 1st.

    This is everything he requires for the year (I didn’t order counters again as we have from previous curriculum purchases).

    Reading (There are a total of 43 readers for Grade 1)

    English (The Lotto cards are essentially flashcard words with corresponding pictures)

    What you need:

    Coloured craft sticks (8 per colour: Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Green, Orange)
    Self adhesive velcro (I used strips)
    Scissors

    Assemble Instructions:
    Cut the velcro strips small enough to fit onto each corner of the craft stick.
    Stick velcro on each end of the craft stick, on both sides.

    Print out my free Craft Stick Shape Cards and follow assembly and play instructions.

    Over the years, we have had Circle Time. The past year, though, we have been doing it less and less and eventually stopped doing it altogether. I am in the process of reworking our school schedule for the new school year and I’ve planned our Circle Time as follows:
