Tot School ~ First day with our new schedule

Tot School
~Koko is 35 months old & Fifi is 13 months old~

I’ve reworked our tot school schedule and we started working according to that schedule today. We started the day with structured free play. I had never done this with the kids before and Koko absolutely loved it and seemed so much happier to play on his own this morning.

Messy Play ~ Water – he spent more than half an hour playing like this. He loved it.

Fifi was eventually given her own set of cookie cutters to bang around. She kept taking the cutter Koko wanted to use, LOL.

We then moved onto the Tot School part of our day, which he flew through, as usual. I need to get him more intensive stuff to work on, the stuff I though he didn’t know he does, LOL. Such a little smartie pants

Tot School Planning

Tot School
~Koko is 35 months old~

I am in the process of reorganising our Tot School. I have found that Koko isn’t being stimulated enough and, with the help from my friend who owns Edukits, I am busy setting up a new schedule for him which Fifi can also participate in.
Timetable

I am also in the process of tweaking our totboxes. I have come to realise that Koko is ready for more intensive work and have done away with our 1 box per day. He will now have 5 boxes to complete during our totschool time in the mornings. This works out very well, as that is the time Noo works independently.
Totschool Planning

Structured Free Play, this is something I had never thought of before. Koko can keep himself busy, provided that there is something he is interested in. I plan on setting up his morning structured play activities while the children are eating eating breakfast and having their free play session before Noo starts lessons at 9.

Tot School this week

Tot School
~Koko is 35 months old~

Koko has suddenly taken to his Totbooks. He worked through the “Big Machines”, “Cars” and “Tarzan” totbooks and 2 File Folder Games in one night. He then decided to pull out my totbook/filefolder game file and redo his “Shapes and colours” and “dinosaur” totbooks again. He was on a roll. I have since realised that he is ready for preschool work and I’ll be starting Letter of the Week and more in depth lessons. I’m looking forward to this new part of our homeschool journey.

Fifi has started drawing. She is even holding the pencils and pens correctly. Here she’s busy “drawing” (more like punching holes in the page, LOL) while watching “Gerald McBoingboing. Isn’t she just the cutest little thing ♥

Here are our tot boxes for the week.
Monday

Dinosaur sequencing. Koko HATED this, he took one look at it and got up, LOL. I’ll keep putting these types of activities in his boxes. He’ll want to do them eventually. The dinosaurs in the box are part of the Dinosaur Train totbook from 1+1+1=1 and the orange dinosaur sequencing game is from File Folder Fun

This week we are working on colours and shapes.

I downloaded the Primary Colors Tot Book from Musings of a Rocker Mom blog. Koko absolutely had a blast with it.
